The D3000 is a camera that will carry you from beginner to advanced photography. Nikon D3000 price on Amazon was the best and it was here in a flash. After using a Nikon 35mm for the past 25 years this is Heaven. You cant go wrong with this one in this price range. If you are going to spend within $100,s of the price for a lesser camera, spend a $100,s more for this one.

Excellent camera for the price and features. I’m not going to tell and compare all those technical details. I need a DSLR camera to take a good picture of my 6 months old kid. She moves a lot. Almost every picture has fuzz/blur in it. As far as DLSR cameras goes, it’s pretty much between Cannon or Nikon. Those reviews say quite some users complained mid-range focus issue with Cannon cameras. The fact that Nikon has more AF points is the winning point for me. Then, it came down between D90 and D3000. D90 has rave reviews. It has lots of nice features. But by the time I figure all of them out and use them to my advantage, I can probably buy a twice jem-packed DLSR for the same price. So D3000 is all I need for next couple of years. I don’t need those video features on D90 and D5000. I like to keep it simple. When a manufacture jams too much functions into one small device, some performance will have to compromise. D3000 has pretty much everything you need for a DLSR. With current memory and battery capability, you just shoot and shoot, and later you sit down to go through them and pick the best one. Great pictures come from the person who holds the camera, not the camera. A more advanced camera make you to achieve that a little bit easier, but not that much. Invest your money on a couple of good Nikon lens, then you’re set when it’s time to upgrade the camera body.

I absolutely love this camera! I have only had it for 1 month and am finding the manual controls very easy to access and use. I like to have control over my photos and I hardly use the AUTO features at all. Since I am of the generation that began with cameras that had only viewfinders to frame your subject, I don’t miss the LIVE LCD screen, in fact, I prefer it. My outdoor photos are much better viewing thru the viewfinder. It’s easier to see in bright light what you’re shooting. The photos turn out great, colors are vibrant and accurate. I’ve attached the first sunset photo I shot with this camera yesterday. Also, the battery holds a charge for a very long time. I’ve shot over 200 photos in a day and still have ALL the bars showing on the battery strength indicator. Finally, the Nikon D3000 price is right! I’ve compared and shopped around and this is the best price by far. I recommend this to everyone from the casual photographer to the more experienced “professional” photographers. From the casual family photos to the more artistic – this camera does it!

This was a Christmas gift for our daughter and she loved it and has enjoyed it so much. I was very pleased with the camera, the price was great. We did a lot of looking around before purchasing it and this was by far the best deal we found. I told a friend and she purchased one also and loves it.

Many blogs conclude the D3000 to be a poor-man’s DSLR since it’s a feature-stripped version of other Nikon’s. Although this is true, (I really wish it had auto-bracketing & live preview would be nice) I sincerely love this camera as-is.

I upgraded from my Konica-Minolta Z4 point-and-shoot almost a year ago and I’ve never looked back. For me, price was an issue and the D3000 was the best value. With the money I saved I was able to purchase 2 additional lenses.

The jump in quality, performance, power and flexibility that this camera can do has created in me a thirst for photography. I love the extended range of pictures I can now take with my 35mm portrait and 55-200mm zoom lens.

The D3000 is one of the first Nikon’s with the largest screens as well as Guide mode. If your upgrading from a PNS you’ll appreciate it. However, if you can get a handle around the relationship between ISO, shutter speed, aperture and EV your visual world will change as you know it – plus you’ll get more out of any camera you own.
